Participant guide

Questions are part of the process.

You deserve enough information to make your own decision. Use this guide to organize a conversation with a study team.

About the study

  • What is the study trying to learn?
  • Why might I be eligible?
  • How long is the study expected to last?
  • What will happen at each visit?
  • Which parts are research and which are standard care?

About your time and wellbeing

  • How many visits are expected, and where do they occur?
  • Are remote visits or travel support available?
  • What are the known or possible risks and discomforts?
  • Are there possible benefits, and are any guaranteed?
  • Who should I contact if I have a question or concern?

About your choices

Ask what alternatives may be available and what happens if you decide not to participate. Participation is voluntary. You can take time to review information, involve people you trust, and ask the study team to explain anything that is unclear.

A helpful distinction

Submitting an interest form is not the same as enrolling in a clinical trial. It begins a conversation and does not guarantee that a study is available or that you will qualify.
